Kendall is a Coroner's Investigator for the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner on The Closer and Major Crimes.

As a Coroner's Investigator, Kendall will interview witnesses and first responders, photograph the crime scene, collect evidence, make identifications and secure the victims valuables. They also prepare preliminary reports that are forwarded to the Forensic Medicine Division and the medical examiners for use in the determination of the cause and mode of death.

Though seen in nearly every episode since his introduction in “Tijuana Brass”, not much is known of Kendall or his background.

In “Pick Your Poison”​, after examining their victims, Kendall suddenly realized that they could have been poisoned, just as Det. Amy Sykes was about to pick up the baggy of drugs, leading Kendall to exclaim "don't touch that!". After telling the detectives his belief that they are dealing with some sort of poison, they quickly exited the house to await for HAZMAT. Dr. Fernando Morales later concluded in his autopsy, that the drugs the boys' had taked was cut with cyanide.

In “Intersection”, he tells the Major Crimes Division that just two months earlier, his teenaged cousin was killed by a vehicle on Venice Boulevard when he was out riding his bike, which causes Kendall great anger.

In “Shockwave, Part 1”​, Kendall is in proximity to a bomb that goes off, killing one civilian police officer and seriously injuring another. However, Kendall is unharmed. He also attends Sharon and Andy's wedding.(“Sanctuary City, Part 5”)

In a deleted scene for “By Any Means, Part 4”​, Kendall arrives to check on the body of Dylan Baxter but is told by Tao that he can hold off since he was the one who killed the young man. After being informed that there could be a bomb in the room, a nervous Kendall leaves.
